The University of Minnesota experimental HEP group invites applications for two or three postdoctoral positions in our program of neutrino physics. Our group is constructing and will operate the NOvA Far Detector Laboratory in Ash River, MN, and also has major roles in the design, fabrication and installation of the detector modules.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to make major contributions to one or more of these activities, as well as to preparations for operating and analyzing the experiment. Our group also collaborates on the MINOS experiment, currently taking data at Soudan, Minnesota, and is a significant contributor to planning the scientific program for the DUSEL/Sanford Lab at the Homestake Mine in South Dakota. Our research associates have the opportunity to participate in these programs in addition to NOvA.
We expect to fill these positions at either the research associate or senior research associate level, depending on experience and qualifications. While the focus is neutrino physics, we encourage applications from physicists experienced in the instrumentation and analysis of experiments in all areas of HEP, high energy astrophysics and nuclear physics.
Applicants with a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics or related fields will be considered. Must also have substantial research and publication record.
