Rufi no H. Ibarra (Ph.D., Physics, 1969)

After receiving my Ph.D., I went to England to do postdoctoral
work at the University of Manchester from 1970-1973.

I then joined the Physics Department at the University of the Philippines. I became full professor in 1979. I was at the University of the Philippines from 1973-1985. I had a chance to visit the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen from 1976-1978 and the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg from 1982-1984. I am semi-retired. My wife, Odette, and I have one daughter. I have fond memories of the School of Physics and Astronomy. My favorite professors were Ben Bayman (my advisor), and William Zimmermann who taught freshman Quantum Mechanics.
