My wife, Sue, and I enjoy traveling, especially to visit our daughters in San Francisco and Washington D.C. We also like music, reading and
spending time at our cabin. In 2000, I joined the teaching faculty of the Computer Science Department at the University. This followed 25 years of supercomputing at Control Data and Cray Research. My favorite
memory was listening to Russell Hobbie lecture on quantum mechanics
just after hearing about John Kennedy’s assassination. It was a scary
time! James Mentz’s lectures on mechanics were difficult yet interesting.
