Grant Remmen (B.S. Physics)

My favorite memories are the fun I had doing undergraduate research and getting to know the fantastic faculty, in both the Physics and Astronomy departments at the U of M.

Right now I am enjoying graduate school in sunny Pasadena, California at the California Institute of Technology. I am in the second to third year of the Ph.D. program in the theoretical physics group. I am a Hertz Graduate Fellow and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and I research with Dr. Sean Carroll and Professor Cliff Cheung. At the U I had so many favorite professors and classes! Professor Bob Gehrz inspired an interest in astrophysics in Introduction to Astrophysics; Classical Mechanics with Prof. Dan Cronin-Hennessy was great because he is always so helpful with questions; I enjoyed Prof. Tom Walsh because he had lunch with his Freshman Honors Physics students every Tuesday; and Cosmology with Liliya Williams was very engaging as well.
