Inventive Women: Portraits of Scientists and Engineers

Inventive Women, is a photography exhibit featuring female College of Science and Engineering faculty, including School of Physics and Astronomy profressors Priscilla Cushman, Liliya Williams and Cindy Cattell.

The exhibit was produced for the Minnesota History Center by Nancy G. Johnson, a communications specialist in the Mechanical Engineering Department. The exhibit is coming to Walter Library and there will be be an Opening Reception, Friday September 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Great Room, Walter Library.

The reception will be followed by a History of Science and Technology Colloquium in the Upson Room (Walter 102) and will feature Sally Kohlstedt, a featured faculty member, and her latest book, Teaching Children Science: Hands-On Nature Study in America, 1890-1930, with commentators Nancy Beadie of the University of Washington and Pamela Henson of the Smithsonian Institution Archives.
