Voloshin wins 2001 Sakurai Prize

                                                       

Mikhail Voloshin, University of Minnesota Professor of Physics was awarded the 2001 Sakurai Prize in Theoretical Particle Physics

Mikhail Voloshin, University of Minnesota Professor of Physics was awarded the 2001 Sakurai Prize in Theoretical Particle Physics "for the construction of heavy quark mass expansion and the discovery of the heavy quark symmetry in quantum chromodynamics, which led to a quantative theory of the decays of c and b flavored hadrons." Prof. Voloshin shared the award with Nathan Isgure of Jefferson Laboratory and Mark Wise of the California Institute of Technology.
