MAXIMA group on NOVA

The Minnesota MAXIMA group is featured on PBS NOVA, "The Runaway Universe"

On Tuesday Nov. 21, at 8pm, PBS will feature the television program NOVA titled "The Runaway Universe". It will discuss recent cosmological data that indicate that the universe is accelerating its expansion and will do so forever.

Last year the NOVA team has spent some time with the MAXIMA experiment, which is partly conducted through our department (Shaul Hananys group.) MAXIMA measures fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background radiation and its data strongly support the runaway universe. NOVA filmed the MAXIMA balloon launch and operation, and covered the publication of the recent results.

MAXIMA will be featured in NOVA and Shaul is expected to participate in a short discussion - watch closely.

You are invited to watch.
