U theorists make discovery in odd triplet pairing

In a paper which will shortly appear in Physical Review Letters, School of Physics and Astronomy Professor Oriol Valls along with lead author Klaus Halterman (China Lake, Naval Warfare Center) and co-author Paul Barsic (University of Minnesota) show that triplet superconducting pairing, odd in time, is induced in clean heterostructures consisting of an ordinary s-wave superconductor sandwiched between ferromagnets.

Grad program now accepting applications

Applications for the Physics graduate program are now being accepted for the 2008 school year. Apply online now. The deadline for application to the program is January 15, 2008. To be considered for a fellowship, it is recommended that you apply by December 15, 2007. More »

Physics Force at Homecoming
