A number of Physics Department and/or Graduate School Fellowships are available. These may be in addition to or instead of a Teaching Assistantship. If you are interested in obtaining fellowship support please apply no later than December 15. Nothing further is needed other than an early application following the normal procedures. We will nominate several of the early applicants based on the information provided in their application materials for these awards. Graduate School Fellowship candidates will need to submit a Graduate School application in January. Decisions are expected in late February or early March.
A fellowship started by former students of Professor Allen Goldman honoring his 40+ years of teaching and mentoring students. The fellowship will be awarded each year to a graduate student enrolled in the School of Physics and Astronomy working toward a graduate degree. Details & Award Winners

The Dr. Leonard F. Burlaga/Arctowski Medal Fellowship Gift is equivalent to a 50%-time Graduate Assistantship during the summer. The fellowship will be awarded to a full-time graduate students in good standing with exceptional potential in their field enrolled in the School of Physics and Astronomy working toward a graduate degree and associated with the Space Physics Group. The Larkin Fellowship is a fellowship awarded to a physics graduate student whose adviser is a member of the Fine Theoretical Physics Institute. The fellowship was established in memory of Professor Anatoly Larkin and was endowed by a group of 43 donors made up of his former students and colleagues. Details & Award Winners
This fund will provide an annual award for a graduating physics student showing excellence and promise in his or her chosen field. Details & Award Winners

A graduate fellowship honoring the teaching and research career of Robert O. Pepin, long time faculty member of the School of Physics and Astronomy. Details & Award Winners
A fellowship for graduate students created by Mike and Lester Lu. This fellowship was endowed in honor of their father, the late Hoff Lu (Ph.D. 1941). Lu was a distinguished alumnus of the University, working in Al Nier's laboratory during the period when the Professor completed his famous work on U235 and U238. Hoff Lu is known as the father of theoretical nuclear physics in China. Details & Award Winners
