David R. Hanson (Ph.D., Physics, 1989; B.S. Physics, 1983)

I am now teaching at Augsburg College in the Chemistry Department.

I am doing research on atmospheric chemistry and physics. My main research focus is developing and testing a mass spectrometer for measuring trace gases which will be deployed on a high altitude research aircraft. I also maintain an interest in atmospheric particle formation as a visiting scientist in the University of Minnesota’s Department of Mechanical Engineering with Peter McMurry’s group. I live in St. Paul with my wife Leslie and two children, Emilie (4) and Oliver (2).
