About My Work

Direct detection of WIMP dark-matter candidates in the CDMS collaboration. The SuperCDMS experiment is a background-free direct-detection experiment located in the Soudan Underground Laboratory, utilizing high-purity Germanium crystal detectors operated at cryogenic temperatures. I am currently developing a new neural network approach to discriminate between true WIMP events and surface events, a difficult-to-remove type of background in our experiment. I also help to operate Little Blue, a local CDMS detector test facility. After the current experimental run in Soudan is completed, the experiment will be moved to SNOLAB near Sudbury, ON.
