Christian P. Minor (B.S. 1994)

Advisor: Professor Earl Peterson. Working in northern Minnesota for the Soudan 2 project; the time and patience all the professors had with my endless questions about physics.

I am married to Amy Pemble, also from Minnesota; son Miles (18 months) and daughter Maisie (3 months). We are very much involved in parenting and doing things with the kids, but we try and get back to Minnesota to see family as often as we can. I completed my Ph.D. in astrophysics and then went on to a supporting scientist position as a contractor at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. I am now senior scientist supporting the Chemistry Division at NRL in multi sensor system design, data fusion, and machine learning. I currently am and have been a principal investigator or scientist on several research programs for the Office of Naval Research and other Defense department organizations. All of my professors at U of MN physics and math were favorites and I learned a tremendous amount from them all. Currently Senior Staff Scientist (contractor) for Chemistry Division, Code 6181 at U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC. After graduation I attended University of California, Riverside, Ph.D. physics program.
