Gravitational Waves workshop

Gravitational Waves

The Fine Theoretical Physics Institute will host the 2010 Gravitational Waves Workshop from October 14-16, 2010.

The "Gravitational Waves" workshop will bring together both theorists and experimentalists with a wide range of expertise to discuss the status of current and future gravitational-wave detectors, results of recent searches for gravitational-wave signals, and the interplay between theory and ongoing and future experiments.

Topics to be covered at the workshop include:

  • Numerical Relativity
  • Ground-based gravitational-wave detectors
  • Results of searches for gravitational-wave signals
  • Satellite-based gravitational-wave detectors
  • Third-generation ground-based gravitational-wave detectors
  • Pulsar timing and gravitational waves
  • Astrophysical and cosmological sources
  • Tests of relativity
  • Tests of short-range gravity

Participation in the event is by invitation only. We welcome and encourage participation by graduate students. Please contact us with any questions by email at gw2010 (@) physics.umn.edu.
