I am a postdoc at the University of Minnesota for the CLEO-c and BES III projects. My Ph.D. thesis was on the measurement of quantum correlations in entangled D meson decays using the CLEO-c detector. I am currently working on Monte Carlo generation for the CLEO collaborations and setting up the BES III computing environment locally on the Minnesota computer simulations farm. I am interested in the fields of astronomy, particle physics, medical physics, computer science, and physics education.

Current Research

We use the CLEO-c detector to study the decays of D^0 and #bar{D^0}, which are produced almost at rest from psi(3770) decays from e^+e^- collisions from the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). The rates and potential final states of correlated DDbar decays are modified by interference between different processes to the same final state, including doubly-Cabibbo suppressed decays and charm mixing. This allows the measurement of small mixing parameters "x" and "y", as well as the strong phase angle "delta." The best measurement of these correlation parameters comes from a least-squares fit that takes as input the decay rates of both partially- and fully-reconstructed events involving flavored states, semileptonic states, and CP eigenstates, as well as utilizing external measurements as constraints.
