Topological phases are mainly studied in the absence of interactions, but more recent results show their presence in interacting system. The Peierls-Hubbard model consists of interacting fermions in 1 dimension, and is an extension to the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model. I will review the basic properties of the SSH model before adding the interaction term. Then I show how the topological phase can be determined from the Green's function. In the end there will be a brief discussion of effects from an additional ferromagnetic interaction, which is supported by numerical data. [1] S. Manmana, A. Essin, R. Noack and V.
