An accurate measurement of g using falling balls

Abstract

A fun experiment that we developed for a course on "Experimental Methods of Physics". Students built the electronics needed for measuring the time for balls of different materials to fall between two fixed points, and learned about data fitting from the very precise data they could obtain.
